What should be done to fix a loose full denture?

Although the most common solution is to have a reline procedure done, other things to check on a loose full denture are the border  extension and the bite. Over and under extended borders can cause a denture to come loose even if the denture base is well adapted. Occlusion plays a big part as well. A full denture should have a bite that allows a patient to close their mouth without jiggling the denture. If a denture wearer feels that their denture is about to come loose they should be able to stabilize it by closing their mouth and bring their teeth together.  Also a denture wearer should be able to move their lower jaw side to side with some tooth contact without loosening their denture. If the bite is not adjusted properly closing the mouth can cause a denture to become less stable.

If you are a denture wearer bothered by a loose denture the best way to diagnose the problem is to visit a dentist who is experienced in making dentures. He or she should be able to explain why your denture is coming loose and what he or she can do to remedy this problem.
