In the last 10 years computerizing my dental office has been a pressing priority and updating my computers and their software has seemed more important then replacing dental units. I have invested in wiring and networking computers for all my three treatment rooms and two business offices. We have updated our office management software and purchased a digital X-ray system.
Finally last week I bit the bullet and I ordered a new unit. Since I have just signed a new ten year lease, I decided to do some sprucing up of my office. One of the units in my office dates from the 1970's and it is in my associates room. She will get my unit, which is still in a good operating condition and I will get the new one. After all people do often judge a book by it's cover and It's never a bad idea for a dentist to appear up to date.

a great blog post. Patients do indeed judge us by our equipment, after all, they can't often judge the dentistry... would patients really understand if we said that shimstock holds to 3 microns!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your practice continues to do well.
