What's the best dental floss?

My personal favorite is Reach Total Care. Its slippery, but it cleans really well. It seems to be "stretchy" as well so that it easy to get it to hug the curved contours of the teeth as well. Unlike conventional floss, either waxed or unwaxed, it doesn't shred, since it is not made from woven fibers. According to the Johnson &Johnson's information page, it is "the only flexible dental floss that uses revolutionary MICRO-GROOVES that stretch, to get between teeth, then grip." Although, many of my patients like Glide made by Oral B, I personally believe that Reach Total Care does a better job of cleaning in between teeth. For floss to be optimally effective it has to "squeegee" off the plaque that accumulates on the proximal curved surfaces of teeth and I find Glide to be too slippery to clean the teeth thoroughly.
